Strengthening Indiana's Ties with Switzerland
The International Center and the Indiana-Germanic Business Council recently co-hosted a private networking reception with special guests from the Consulate General of Switzerland and the Indianapolis Colts. The evening featured remarks from Consul General Pascal Bornoz and Colts Vice President of Marketing Stephanie Pemberton, who highlighted the team’s newly announced international marketing rights in Switzerland. Guests also enjoyed a surprise visit from Colts mascot Blue, making the event both memorable and meaningful.

The International Center recently welcomed Colin Bird, Consul General of Canada, and Jan Scazighino, Senior Trade Commissioner, for a meaningful conversation on expanding cross-border collaboration. The visit highlighted ongoing efforts to deepen the U.S.–Canada relationship and advance shared goals in international partnership and trade. Join Us for the Virtual Ukraine Summit – May 7
You're invited to the Virtual Ukraine Summit on Tuesday, May 7 at 10:00 AM ET via Zoom. This timely conversation will explore the growing partnership between Indiana and Zhytomyr Oblast, featuring updates on cultural exchange, education, healthcare initiatives, and more. Moderated by Svitlana Ramer, Honorary Consul of Ukraine to Indiana, the event will include opening remarks from Zhytomyr Governor Vitalii Bunechko and feature insights from leaders across Indiana.
The International Center was honored to support a recent naturalization ceremony where 96 individuals from 36 countries took the Oath of Allegiance and officially became U.S. citizens. As part of the ceremony, The Center presented a U.S. flag from the Capitol to the eldest new citizen—a powerful symbol of the journey and commitment shared by all who participated. We proudly celebrate and welcome these new Americans!

Hosting Rwandan Leaders at The International Center
We were honored to host John Musiine, President of the Indianapolis Rwandan Diaspora Network, and Arthur Asiimwe, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Rwanda in Washington, D.C., for a meaningful visit to The International Center. The event also featured April Fisher from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Dr. Toby Malichi. Together, we explored opportunities for collaboration and global engagement with Rwanda, strengthening our international connections.

IVLP - Trafficking in Persons: Prevention & Mitigation
The International Center recently welcomed seven global leaders from Germany, India, Jamaica, Liberia, Maldives, Slovenia, and the UK through the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program on Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation.
During their time in Indiana, the group met with local experts, including representatives from Advocates for Children and Families, Indiana State Police, Purdue University, and Indiana University Bloomington. Discussions focused on justice for survivors, the role of law enforcement, community-based prevention strategies, and innovative research supporting anti-trafficking efforts.
Their visit concluded with a stop at Hope Center Indy and a demonstration from the Jordan Detection K9 team, followed by a warm Hoosier sendoff with home-cooked meals provided by local volunteers.

The International Center is proud to share that Relocation Specialist Ahemen Ivande is now a licensed Realtor with F.C. Tucker Company. This new credential will allow Ahemen to expand her services by offering rental home finding assistance to our international transferees. Join The International Center, in partnership with Pacers Sports & Entertainment and former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, for a family-friendly celebration honoring the landmark Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court decision. Held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday, June 7 from 1:00–3:00 PM, the event will feature live entertainment, food, a legal scholar discussion, and a special vow renewal ceremony led by Mayor Ballard. Don’t miss this meaningful afternoon of love, unity, and history.

The International Center was pleased to attend the Bedel Financial Consulting Ladies Luncheon, where guests heard from Liz Ann Sonders on some of today’s most pressing global economic issues. It was a wonderful opportunity to engage with community leaders.
