During the 2025 Indy Chinese New Year Gala and the Indianapolis Chinese Community Center Inc. (ICCCI) 30th Anniversary Celebration on February 2nd, 2025, our Center was recognized as one of the closest collaborators and supporters of ICCCI, as stated in the presentation remarks:

“Among the various ventures conducted by The International Center, including professional development, relocation services, and the international visitor program, ICCCI particularly benefits from its community engagement program. This program plays a critical role promoting cultural understanding in the greater Indianapolis area. For over a decade, The International Center has provided funding to support the annual Indy Chinese Festival and Chinese New Year Gala, ensuring success and impact of these community events. Additionally, staff from The International Center have dedicated their personal time to contribute to other Chinese community events, such as the Carmel Mooncake Festival.”

We look forward to our continued partnership! Pictured from left to right: Quanbo Xiong, Co-President of ICCCI, Martin Baier, President & CEO of The International Center, and Youyan Zhang, Co-President of ICCCI.

Living up to the Mission:

The International Center is a catalyst to inform, convene, and connect public, private and civic global objectives in Indiana.

Inform:

The International Center was delighted to host Stanley Dumornay, Executive Director of Freetown Village, as Stanley’s mission to develop a strong internship program for his organization led to a valuable exchange of ideas, and we were excited to share insights from our own experience. We wish Freetown Village great success in growing their program and look forward to seeing its impact!

Convene:

The International Center was honored to attend The Economic Club of Indiana’s January luncheon featuring Dr. Gregg Colburn. His insights on affordable housing and its impact on our community, particularly in Indianapolis, were truly inspiring. We were also grateful to be joined by representatives from Intend Indiana for this important discussion.

Connect:

The International Center was honored to welcome Michael Ahrens, Consul General of Germany in Chicago, during his recent visit. We appreciate his time and insights, as well as his willingness to meet with our newest intern, Phillip Seifert, a German exchange student at Marian University Indianapolis.
