The International Center celebrated Immigrant Heritage Month, honoring the rich cultural contributions of our immigrant staff, interns, board members, and community partners. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences significantly enhance our community. We are proud of our interns who were invited to participate in World Refugee Day at the Global Village Welcome Center, showcasing their dedication and hard work. Reflecting on Loving Day 2024

Chapital%20-219.jpg

It was an honor to host Indiana’s first ever Loving Day celebration on Saturday, June 8th in collaboration with former Mayor of Indianapolis Greg Ballard and Pacers Sports & Entertainment.

Witnessing the thriving love and diversity in our community was truly inspiring.

Special thanks to the Indianapolis Colts, Lumina Foundation, and UNCF for supporting this event, as well as to Frida's Flowers, Antonio Chapital, Chef Monica Douglas, Jerald Harkness, Rafael Sanchez, Professor Charlotte Westerhaus-Renfrow, Tina Powell, and Rebecca Robinson. This wouldn’t have been possible without your outstanding contributions!

Best Wishes to our Colleagues!

Convene:

We were honored to host Financial Center's International Advisory Council meeting, welcoming new members Soren Chamorro González from La Plaza, Inc. and Shane Lanning from Ball State University. The meeting featured discussions on the Global Bridges Ecuador Study and recognized Maria Luisa Tishner for her exceptional service. Thank you to everyone who made this meeting a success!

Connect:

The Center hosted a Japanese delegation from the International Visitor Leadership Program, focusing on expanding the participation of underrepresented groups in Japan's agricultural sectors. Discussions highlighted support for women in agriculture, inspired by initiatives like Women4theLand and Purdue University Women in Agriculture. The delegation also explored educational opportunities, engaged with youth organizations, and enjoyed cultural immersion through home hospitality and a jazz night.
